Events Making a Come Back Earns National News Coverage

As events return, facilities prepare new safety procedures. Some locations plan to host large events as soon as July. Safety considerations include temperature checks, limited capacity, touchless registration, and social distancing. Research from the International Association of Exhibitions and Events reports that since March through the end of the year, 64% of conferences have been canceled. With the opening of states such as Florida and Texas, we can expect to see events make a come back.

“I’m very excited to be getting groups back,” said Mark Tester, executive director of the Orange County Convention Center.

Organizers and attendees alike are looking to the venues and local governments to make decisions regarding the return of events and safety requirements. Based on industry trends and tracking, many events are anticipated to take place this fall.
